My name is Daniel Finn. I turned 50 years young. I am known for creative, “Out of the Box” thinking when it comes to equipment design and exercise routines. Below is my journey to the present.
After receiving a one year welding diploma at a technical school (1982-83), I worked in skilled trades as a structural welder for seventeen years (1983-2000). My employer was Hufcor, Inc. in Janesville, Wisconsin (manufacturers of modular wall systems for churches, schools, and hotels/convention centers). During this timeframe, I earned approximately 60 educational credits, completing classes in anatomy & physiology, kinesiology, physics, medical terminology, physical therapy, and other general studies.
I became a certified personal trainer through ACE in 1991 and began operating Finn’s Functional Fitness. In 1992, I started a corporate fitness center at Hufcor. I oversaw it (350-400 employees) for 12 years, fixing up a 2,000+ sq. ft. facility, purchasing & fabricating equipment, and designing exercise & wellness programs. In 2001, in addition to the fitness center responsibilities, I became a production supervisor, overseeing approximately 50 employees in various sectors of manufacturing.
In February of 2004, I accepted the position of strength equipment product manager at Vision Fitness in Lake Mills, Wisconsin. My primary responsibilities were equipment ideation, design & development, quality assurance, and sales training. I worked there until April 4, 2008.
In October of 2009, I became an employee of Spirit Fitness as a product manager. Their owner’s headquarters is located in Taichung, Taiwan and North American headquarters in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
In February of 2012, I accomplished my dream of opening up my own personal/group training studio.
